The definition of maskne is a facial break out, acne or irritation on the skin in the area where a medical face mask is worn.
It’s a thing, and it happens to men, women, young, or old; no one gets away from it. Although some may have it more than others, we all have had or will have our maskne moment of trying to heal our skin from wearing medical masks regularly. So you have used them, maybe you haven’t, but here are some pretty good skincare options I recommend to treat your skin while making it and your life beautiful again. Because no one wants to go through life with bad skin if they don’t have to! So incorporate one, two or all the products listed below into your skin routine of cleansing, tone, serum, moisturize, and sun protection (during the day). Use a mask weekly to prevent potential issues and treat as needed.
Counter+ Charcoal Facial Mask: This mask will detox the skin by exposing any internal congestion that pimples, papules, and pustules can cause. This charcoal mask is my fave charcoal mask because it is gentle yet effective, not as harsh as many charcoal masks out there.
Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel: This gentle peel will brighten up any blemishes, even out your skin, and diminish fine lines when adding this to your evening skincare routine a couple of times a week, at night only.
Epicuren Clarify Starter Kit: This kit is the ultimate in squeaky clean skin, clarifies acne and blemishes for an improved complexion, and the confidence to put your natural face first in life and on Zoom.
Lapcos Honey Mask: A sheet mask to hydrate and heal stressed skin with it’s anti-bacterial properties. Use morning or night. I personally prefer sheet masks in the morning to start out my day with an epic glow. Get an extra 20% off before the end of May!!
Epicuren Moisture Surge Hyaluronic Acid Gel: Hyaluronic acid hydrates the face daily by mimicking the natural water moisture in the skin.
Epicuren Brazilian Propolis Mist/Toner: This anti-bacterial mist derived from Bees will hydrate, bring skin back to its correct PH so that the follow-up products can adequately do their job and accurately penetrate the skin.
Epicuren Retinol Anti-Wrinkle Complex : Retinol eliminates old, dry, dead skin so that all products can get through to a fresh, renewed layer and operate at optimal performance.
Regular professional facials: Become consistent with incorporating regular facials into your life somewhere between every 1 to 3 months at the least in order to deep clean, increase circulation, and evaluate the skin along with continued personalized professional advice and at-home care recommendations curated to you and your lifestyle.
If you’re having issues, definitely DO something(s) on the list above that works best for you, but most of all, love yourself, which will lead to loving the skin you’re in!
