Think body treatments to keep it right, tight, detoxed, clear and smooth through the remainder of Summer and beyond…
Dry Brushing
Cellulite is fat under the skin in the fatty subcutaneous layer that causes a dimpling appearance usually in the thigh, hip and buttocks area. It mainly happens in women, it is rare to ever see it in men due to the difference in fat cells and muscle anatomy. I guess us women carry all cushion to help us through having babies? I have no idea why we must deal with this but we do well most of us do.
Cellulite may be more of an issue with lack of exercise and a less than healthy eating. Sometimes it is more genetic than anything while lack of exercise and unhealthy eating can exacerbate the issue. It can also be affected by hormones and circulatory issues. However, do not fret, we can improve this issue with a healthier diet, exercise, and other means. One major option to improve the appearance of cellulite is dry brushing.
Positive results of dry brushing can aid in diminishing the actual cellulite and its appearance. How? Dry brushing is an ancient way of exfoliating the skin using a brush while the skin is dry, prior to taking a shower. Once again, your skin must be dry for max benefits. Dry brushing aids internally by getting rid of toxins through promoting circulation and a feeling of well being throughout the body. It aids externally by exfoliating the skin promoting a brighter glow while getting rid of dead, dull skin. Consistently dry brush 2-3 times weekly so your skin is looking it’s best. Hydrate and moisturize well after your shower.
Scrubs
Just like you need to exfoliate your face a couple times a week, you need to do the same for your body. Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin and keeps the surface bright and smooth as well as promotes the ability to fully absorb products for a better result.
After receiving the Himalayan Scrub from Majestic Pure Cosmeceuticals as a gift and surprisingly it did not disappoint. I re-upped on it again as well as the bought the brand’s Arabica Coffee Scrub and both are currently trending in my shower when I’m in need of body exfoliation and/or a little detox to soak up excess water and decrease the appearance of cellulite. The salt in the scrub help to clear and even out skin texture and the added oils moisturize and provide easy slip in order to move the scrub up the body toward the heart which assists in removing toxins from the skin similar to dry brushing. If you are consistent with this process you will see a smoother, improved skin tone.

Oils, Oh My
I personally am in love with Eminence Apricot Body Oil. I also like just experimenting and I’ve noticed and purchased a lot of oils from Marshalls and TJ Maxx, which actually has a significant beauty department of known and seemingly indie skincare brands. The price point is on the low low end so your money is not on the line, making it fun and stress free to try a few products out and if you don’t like them then give it away to a friend or family member. Any who, I love lathering on a good oil after taking a shower and exfoliating with a sugar or coffee scrub. I typically put oil before my moisturizer or alone depending on the weather. If you have problematic skin I would probably say limit or stay away from an oil, however, a body oil that has Lavender is an option since Lavender can help clear up congested skin. Note: a lot of scrubs have oils.

What benefits have you noticed from your weekly dry brushing routine??? Any other oils that you enjoy using and would like to suggest? I’d love to here your comments below. The more knowledge the better!
