Why This? Why Now?

“You playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightening about shrinking so that others won’t feel uncomfortable around you. As you let your own light shine, you indirectly give others permission to do the same.”

-Marianne Williamson

Stop being such a scary ass! Why this? This is me, this is my voice, my life, my desires. I tell myself, declare it! Why now? Now I desire a turning point in my life to practice toward a career as a fashion stylist and image consultant. Maybe a future boutique owner whether it be online e-commerce, a boutique on wheels, a brick and mortar or maybe all three! I am coming with no formal experience but rather a need, a pull, a calling that will not stop whispering to me. New beginnings are a scary yet exciting thing. To start from scratch is intimidating, raw, maybe even enlightening. As Marianne discusses in her interviews for the book ‘Law of Divine Compensation,’ enlightening is, and I say it loosely here, letting go of ego and coming back to the simplicity of love. I am finally here posting, feeling it, winging it and so excited! So…vulnerable.

I will never forget Nia Long’s interview in an issue of Essence Magazine in 2012 where she discusses her life, her newest born child and her decision to be a single mother twice over. She mentions we are all conjurers…this resonated with me. Everything in my life is a result of fruition from my decisions, now it is simply time for another…

This post is the first ‘obvious’ step (I say obvious because I have had so many behind the scenes steps) developed from my learnings from Marie Forleo’s B-School and Desire Mapping with Danielle Laporte. I move forward using what I have learned toward blogging for a business, desire what I want through my core desired feelings and feeling my path rather than hindering it based on mind’s strongholds, fear and doubt but rather use them as fuel to move forward.
