My Fashion Crush of the Month – Monica Rose

Have a celebrity icon that you adore? Ever wonder how they get their style? What is their inspiration?

Three words….Celebrity fashion stylists.

I plan to spotlight a fashion person who is killing it in the industry each month. This month I decided to discuss my fashion crush on stylist to the Kardashians, Monica Rose.

I am recently learning more and more about the multitude of different top stylists and what they bring to the table. Beyond those major stylists on TV I feel like I am being cliché in discussing Monica Rose as the one that I am most interested in. However, based on my review she appears to be a major hustler in the fashion styling game and I feel that I am most aligned with her sense of style and the aesthetic that she takes in the styling of her clients. She represents feminine yet edgy and extremely sexy. I would wear what she styles and style what she styles. She works with my fave’s, the Kardashians and Giuliana Rancic…This is epic in my world, I love watching them! I am more than sure she must have a killer work ethic with the balance of small kids, a ‘husband’, building and maintaining a demanding career and still keeping it stylish. Based on what I have learned in regards to what it takes to be a celebrity stylist of her caliber, I definitely admire her from afar.

Monica Rose has been a stylist for over a decade. Through the course of her styling career she has worked Taryn Manning, Michelle Rodriguez, Rebecca Romjin, Kevin Bacon, Gabriel Union, Keri Hilson, to Kim Kardashian. Per the interview with her on the School of Style website, Monica states she fell into styling because it was just something that felt natural to her. She started out in retail, working different store chains over several years. When she moved to LA and started working in boutique stores is when she started to ‘learn’ styling. Monica was eventually recruited by photographers to style their photo shoots, which lead to a pivotal milestone when she styled a video for Nelly featuring Christina Aguilera. Later, becoming a key stylist for the E! Network to include Keeping Up With The Kardashians and the Kris Jenner Show to name a couple.

Monica continues to style the Kardashians and Jenners. Most recently she has collaborated on a clothing line with Lovers + Friends, completing a capsule collection under her name.
